New Design+Annoucment

Do you like the new design? I thought of changing it after 4 years.

Now the big one. At the moment, I'm still stuck on this deteriorating computer. As of now, A Lenovo Desktop, and a choice of a Gateway, Toshiba, Acer, Samsung, or Sony VAIO Laptop (for my mother) is on my mind. But for now, I'm on near cloud 9 at the moment, I'm nearly impatient just thinking about it. Getting back to video editing will be a relief from four fucking months of overheating and motherboard Fuck-ups.

UPDATE: the shopping will happen next year.

That's it for now, stay tuned for more blogging.

Burned out CPU (HIATUS)

Folks,

I'm unable to do video editing due to dust and damage to the heatsink/fan. The overheat to the CPU forced me to go to LINUX. Until I get a new computer (desktop or laptop), I'll have to stay to linux for a while.

My next computer will be either Toshiba, Sony, or another Acer. I tell you more about this later at the end of the year.

Review: Sonic Heroes (PS2) EXPLICIT

Year: 2004 (NA)
Publisher: Sega
Developer: Sonic Team
ESRB Rating: E

Welcome to my first review. Today's pick is Sonic Heroes for the Playstation 2. To be honest, the Gamecube version is far superior, but since I play games on the PS2, I decided to play the game on this console instead. I was going to post the review on Amazon.com, but they have the "purchase-before-reviewing" policy, so I decided to reviewing in my blog. Here it goes!

Where do I begin? I got this game in 2004 from my mother. When I got the memory card and two controllers, I can start playing the game. (Because really, you don't want to play the game without saving, right)? So I put the game on the console, wait for the system start-up, etc etc. First you get the useless logos (what is presented by, who develops it) and then the introduction starts. It's pretty good if you see it just once, but it's tiresome. At least you can skip it with the start button. And now the title screen pops up. When you press start, it takes you to the main menu. Let's skip to the story mode. Here you have Team Sonic (Sonic, Knuckles, and Tales), Team Dark (Shadow, Rouge, and Omega), Team Rose (Amy, Cream (and cheese) and Big), and Team Chaotix (Vector, Espio, and Charmy). Team Rose is the easiest, Team Sonic and Team Chaotix are medium, and Team Dark is Hard. The beginners of the game (for those who don't know Sonic The Hedgehog shame on you) would pick Team Rose. I picked Team Sonic first because they are my favorite characters throughout the series. (To be honest, I never heard of Knuckles until I played the Sonic Adventure series). For those who like it ruff and tough will pick Team Dark, and those who like to solve mysteries will pick Team Chaotix.

The plot of the game starts as Sonic looking for adventure around the world until Tails & Knuckles come along and gave Sonic a letter from Dr. Robotnik (Eggman) that in three days, he will take over the world. But the other three teams are determined to get Eggman first. What they don't know that this Eggman is a CLONE. The first issue of this game is the acting. Sonic's voice is similar to Ryan Drummond, but it's NOT executed properly. Knuckles' voice is some-what quiet, but Tales' voice (FUCK me) sounded like a five-year-old! The other voices (Except Cream, Charmy, and Shadow) are OK. Each team go to the same stages with different missions. Team Sonic, Team Dark & Team Rose go the the golden ring to finish the stage, while in Team Chaotix each mission must be completed by picking up an animal or a few items to complete the stage. When you get the key, you will be taken to a bonus stage where you can get the 7 emeralds only if you complete the stage without getting hit or losing a life. After completing all stages (and a few bosses), leaves up to the final battle with Eggman. At least it has an old school touch which the game was praised for. The multi player modes are quite boring. You'll have to get enough emblems to unlock some modes. The only mode that was really interesting was Battle, when you knock a team off the boards.

Here is the hard part, after finishing all 4 team stories, you will need all A's in each teams' stages, which is IMPOSSIBLE to beat without a cheat code. If you're able to do that, you'll unlock the final story, which I'm not going to spoil. The controls are very OK, the graphics were a little horrible, but the camera controls, FUCK 'em, FUCK 'em to hell. When you move the camera, going forward is like going where the camera is going, and sometimes it leads you to fall in deep pits or water, which can be very frustrating. The frames are also slower, hence once again the Gamecube version is superior.

Overall, this game is above average. The frames can do more work (seriously Sonic Team, have some people in your work who have enough experience with ALL consoles), the acting is seriously horrendous, and the camera, especially for the camera, needs a SERIOUS fix. Despite all the fuck ups in this game, it still has that old school touch we all love, RUNNING.

Final Score: 6.3/10
